About The Science Dilettante

I am the science dilettante.  My name is Polly B. and currently I have just come to the end of my first postdoc and I am currently in the first few months as a Research fellow and casual lecturer at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.  I am the wife of an ex-Navy man and mother of one and 3/4 children (2nd child expected to land on Feb 3 2010).

I have a wide-ranging interest in science, but I don’t always get to work in random areas that I think would be quite interesting.  This blog is where I get to research work completely outside my little research sphere and actually ‘publish’ something out of it .
